California is a perfect place for Diane L Nieman to pursue adventures and outdoor activities such as kayaking and surfing.
Whenever she gets the chance, Diane L Nieman loves taking trips out to California to enjoy the warm weather and laid back lifestyle. There is so much to see and do in the Golden State that Diane Nieman always finds herself exploring new places and trying new activities. Some of her all time favorite things to do in sunny California are surfing in Laguna Beach and kayaking in Monterey Bay.
Laguna Beach, California
Laguna Beach is a beautiful seaside city known for warm weather year round, scenic views, and its surfing community. Laguna Beach stretches over nine miles long across the coast with plenty of great beaches to explore. From her many visits to California, Diane L Nieman has found that some of the best beaches for surfing include:
- St. Ann’s
- Rockpile
- Brook’s Street
- Pearl Street
- Thalia Street
At these locations you can find a range of waves fit for someone at the beginner or intermediate skill level. Brook’s Street is often known to have more experienced surfers and slightly larger waves.
For Diane L Nieman, surfing is such a freeing and awesome experience. It reminds her a lot of snowboarding and racing with Nastar during the winter months. Although it can take some time to learn and master the skills, it is certainly worth it in the end.
Monterey, California
Kayaking is a very popular activity in Monterey Bay. Diane L Nieman loves kayaking in Monterey Bay for a variety of reasons. There are many incredible scenic views along with tons of wildlife you can see right up close. Kayaking is a great activity to plan with friends and family as it is easy to do and a lot of fun. If surfing proves to be too much of a challenge, Diane L Nieman highly recommends going out on a kayak and admiring nature.
